堀江病院の皆さんが、人工ひざ関節手術ロボットのトレーニングに来られました！

当院は、人工ひざ関節手術支援ロボット「VELYS」のトレーニング施設として、全国から多くの医療従事者が見学に訪れます。先日、群馬県の医療法人三省会堀江病院より、医師、看護師、臨床工学技士がトレーニングに来られました。

顔合わせ当日の朝は、手術室スタッフと群馬県のゆるキャラ「キノピー」の話題でひと盛り上がり。リラックスした笑顔あふれる、和やかな雰囲気でトレーニングがスタートしました。

当日は2件の手術を見学しました。手術室に入ると皆さんの表情は真剣そのもの。当院の手術室の広さや清潔感をはじめ、無駄のない器械配置やスピーディーなチームの連携に対して、高い評価をいただきました。また、佐竹院長が手術の解説を行った際は、皆さん熱心に耳を傾けていました。

皆さんから、「皮切やロボットの設置方法、ピンの刺入位置と角度など、すぐにでも臨床へ活かしたい」「細かな手技やピットフォールを分かりやすく学ぶことができ、非常に実践的で貴重な一日だった」といった、具体的な技術に関する手応えの声をいただきました。また、当院スタッフのおもてなしに対しても満足いただけたとのことです。臨床工学技士・看護師の豊富な経験に基づくプレゼンテーションや、時間が足りないほど活発な意見交換も含め、トレーニング全体を「非常に充実していた」と言っていただけたことは、私たちにとっても大きな励みとなりました。

熱心に学ばれる堀江病院の皆さんの姿を見て、私たちも、はじめてVELYSを導入した時の緊張感と情熱を鮮明に思い出しました。他施設との交流は、学びと気付きが多く刺激となります。これからもロボット技術を通じて、患者さんへ安全で質の高い医療を届けられるようにチームで切磋琢磨していきたいと思います。

As a designated training facility for the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution for knee surgery, our hospital frequently welcomes medical professionals from all over Japan. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a team of doctors, nurses, and clinical engineers from Horie Hospital (Sanseikai Medical Corporation) in Gunma Prefecture for a training session.

The morning kick-off began on a warm and cheerful note. Our operating room (OR) staff and the visiting team quickly bonded over conversations about “Kinopy,” Gunma Prefecture’s beloved local mascot. This fun icebreaker brought out plenty of smiles and set a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for the training ahead.

The visiting team observed two surgical procedures that day. Once inside the OR, their expressions naturally shifted to complete focus. They highly praised our spacious and impeccably clean surgical environment, as well as our streamlined instrument setup and the swift, coordinated teamwork of our staff. During the procedures, Dr. Satake, our hospital director, provided detailed commentary, to which everyone listened intently.

We received wonderful, concrete feedback from the participants. Many shared that they gained insights they could immediately apply to their own clinical practice—such as techniques for skin incisions, robotic setup, and pin insertion positioning and angles. They noted that learning about subtle surgical maneuvers and potential pitfalls made the day incredibly practical and valuable.
The team also mentioned how much they appreciated our staff’s hospitality. From the presentations delivered by our highly experienced clinical engineers and nurses to the lively Q&A sessions that left us wishing for more time, they described the entire training program as “highly fulfilling.” Hearing this was a tremendous source of encouragement for our team.

Seeing the earnest dedication of the Horie Hospital team vividly brought back our own feelings of anticipation and passion from when we first introduced the VELYS system. Exchanging ideas with professionals from other institutions is always deeply inspiring and full of mutual learning. Moving forward, our team will continue to strive for excellence, utilizing robotic technology to deliver the safest and highest-quality care to our patients.
